KarU Ajira Digital Club Team Building Adventure at Canyon Bistro, Embu
The Karatina University Ajira Digital Club recently held a team-building event at Canyon Bistro, Embu, bringing members together for a day of adventure, bonding, and memorable experiences.
The day began on a chilly morning as members gathered at Karatina University Main Campus, Lavington, ready for the trip. By 8:30 a.m., the 67-seater bus departed for Embu, with a stop at Karatina Town, Former School of Business Campus, where more members and the patron joined.
The journey was lively and enjoyable. Members shared funny stories, played card games, engaged in e-football, and some rested along the way. With music playing throughout, the bus had a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere. In a light moment, the team even missed the venue but quickly corrected the route and arrived safely at Canyon Bistro, where they were warmly welcomed.
At 11:30 a.m., a briefing was held to guide the day’s activities. This was followed by an energetic Zumba session and group challenges that helped members interact and build energy for the day.
The highlight was the nature walk through scenic trails overlooking the bamboo forest. Members explored the Mau Mau caves, enjoying the cool atmosphere and unique rock formations. The canopy walk added excitement, offering both challenge and thrill as members adjusted to the heights.
After lunch at 2:00 p.m., members engaged in various activities including archery, wild swing, sky cycling, and zip-lining. The day concluded with team-building games such as balloon challenge and tug of war, which strengthened teamwork and communication.
The activities ended at 5:00 p.m., and the group began the journey back. The return trip was quieter, with most members resting after a full day of activity.
The Canyon Bistro experience was more than just a trip. It was a chance for members to connect, relax, and strengthen their bond outside the academic setting. It remains a meaningful and memorable day for the KarU Ajira Digital Club.
